10. “The hunter” (Bambi)

Our first villain is from Bambi, yes it is the off screen hunter who kills Bambi’s mother. Even though the film did not show the actual killing, the gun shot was enough to scar children around the globe. It was one of the saddest moments of all Disney Films.

9. Sauron (The Lord of the Rings)

Sauron makes our list at number nine. Sauron, the evil in the middle earth, will stop at nothing to take over the world and get his beloved ring back. His armies killed millions and his ability to appear as a giant eye is just plain creepy.

8. Darth Vader (Star Wars)

Almost everyone can recognize the signature Darth Vader theme from Star Wars–it was one of the most successful themes ever composed. Darth Vader not only killed children–yes little jedi children–he was also willing to kill his own son. This villain was complex and with an emotional past which made his actions believable and even moving.

7. Rumplestilskin (Once Upon a Time)

Another villain with an interesting past is Rumplestilskin from Once Upon a Time. Unlike the other villains ranked lower on the list he, like Darth Vader, have back stories that show their inner mind sets. Rumplestilskin’s action, even though they are sometimes heartless and evil, move audience members by understanding the cold world he has known.

6. Daleks (Doctor Who)

One of the Doctor’s most feared and hated opponents have been the Daleks. Making their first appearance in the 60s they scared almost ever child watching the show. Till this day the Daleks are hating aliens which thrive to eliminate any other species.

The Horned King from the Black Cauldron makes our list at number five. This villain was not only frightening to watch but he was also clever and heartless.

3. The Joker (Dark Knight)

“Want to know how I got my scars?” Yes, at number three is the infamous Joker who was a complete and total nut job. Although the Joker’s back story has never been fully establish and varies between comics and films, in the Dark Knight the idea that the Joker was abused physically by his father made him even more deadly. The Joker had nothing to lose, in fact he was simply evil because he wanted to be making him impossible to stop.

2. King Joffrey Baratheon (Game of Thrones)

King Joffrey, the little annoying brat who just wouldn’t die–until he did. One of the best character development on Games of Thrones was Joffrey’s journey. Neglected by King Robert and his real father/uncle Joffrey grew to love torturing animals, being a complete jerk, and a horrible king. He robbed people of their glory and would lie about whatever he wanted to.

1. Khan (Star Trek: Into Darkness)

Number one goes to Khan from Star Trek Into Darkness! Khan wasn’t just a genius he was also acting upon strong beliefs which made him dangerous. Khan might have been racist against other species that weren’t as perfect as he was, but he was willing to save those who were like him. He out smarted almost everyone and would have gone away with it.
